Readiness & Sustainment Directorate (R&S)

 
The Readiness and Sustainment (R&S) Directorate performs sustainment planning and execution of life cycle management and medical materiel sourcing solutions in support of the Operating Force. The R&S is responsible for exercising integrated management control over sustainment programs encompassing major items and secondary end items that have transitioned to sustainment. The R&S supports the capability and materiel developer throughout the acquisition lifecycle, consisting of multifunctional teams including item managers, equipment specialists, and supply management specialists
 
Readiness Operations
Led by the Military Deputy, this group of Medical Logistics Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) are responsible for synchronizing acquisition support operations within the Directorate enabling Supply Chain Optimization in support of AMLC Direct Reporting Units (DRUs) and outside organizational stakeholders. This team manages support operations involving ILSC customer ticketing processes, operational task support, regulation/policy management, operational support of strategic R&S critical tasks and functions to include MEDLOG in Campaigning (MiC).
 
Product Support Integration Divisions (PSIDs)
The R&S Directorate includes three PSIDs focusing on equipment, supply and special projects, and reimbursable support to external MATDEV partners. The R&S acts as the fleet manager for the medical commodity post T2S, enabling and managing readiness across the Force. They also serve as sustainment planning experts for MATDEV Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), engaging development efforts early in the Acquisition life cycle.
 
Medical Materiel Sourcing Division (MMSD)
The Medical Materiel Sourcing Division (MMSD) supports the mission of providing peacetime CLAVIII Medical Material support to Operational Forces Command (FORSCOM) units, in a garrisoned environment, at designated installations across the Continental United States. Primary responsibilities include procurement of all CLAVIII materiel for supported customers, coordinating with medical activities and units to obtain requirements for CLAVIII materiel, and managing the CLAVIII Stock Fund budget. The MMSD Customer Support section serves as the liaison between supported customers.
