Maintenance Master Data File

Under the authority of Headquarters Department of the Army (DA), Office of Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4 the AMLC, Logistics Data Analysis Center maintains cataloging descriptions and technical information on medical device items in a centralized database referred to as the Army Maintenance Master Data File (MMDF).  AR 700-138 (Army Logistics Readiness and Sustainability) serves as official guidance for policies and procedures applicable to Army medical device readiness reporting to include identification of readiness-reportable medical devices and systems. The MMDF identifies the most current readiness-reportable medical devices. AR 700-138, Table B represents readiness-reportable items on the MMDF as well as items that have not yet been added to due to regulation-update time constraints.

Policies and Analysis (P&A) directorate identifies medical devices and assists the Materiel Developer (MATDEV) manage MMDF-listed medical-device records. Directorate staff collaborate with the MATDEV and ensure that medical devices are properly cataloged in accordance with applicable regulations.  P&A staff members also submit medical device record changes to the Logistics Support Activity (LOGSA)/DA G-4 for MMDF additions, deletions, or to implement MATDEV recommended changes.

LOGSA publishes a quarterly MMDF along with a list of reportable item updates (AR 700-138 tables B-1, 2, 3, and 4) to the Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW) portal during the months of January, April, July, and October.  When utilizing the reportable item list to perform data analysis, use the most current list to obtain accurate results. MMDF data can be accessed directly through the LIW portal.  For questions on the MMDF, contact AMLC P&A directorate via email at usarmy.detrick.amlc. mbx.m2pa.mil.@mail.mil; by phone, call 301-619-7459 (COMM) or 312-343-7459 (DSN).
