USAMMC-E Welcomes New Enlisted Lead

By C.J. Lovelace US Army Medical Materiel Center - Europe

With a ceremonial passing of the flag, outgoing Sgt. Maj. José F. Raymundo on Aug. 22 relinquished his responsibilities as the senior enlisted adviser to the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Center-Europe to Sgt. Maj. Francis V. Famularcano.

In welcoming his successor during a change of responsibility ceremony, Raymundo said Famularcano is the right Sergeant Major for the job.

“Sgt. Maj. Famularcano, without a doubt, will take USAMMC-E to the next level,” Raymundo said. “His credentials, impeccable reputation and outstanding performance built over his 20-plus-year career has brought him to this moment.”

Famularcano has held numerous duty positions since enlisting in 1997, ranging from squad leader to First Sergeant. He thanked his Family, past mentors and leaders that helped set him up for success.

“I accept the challenge to be the new USAMMC-E Sergeant Major, and I am looking forward to work with the team,” Famularcano said.

Raymundo, who will continue to serve the Army as the Sgt. Maj. for G-4 (logistics) at the U.S. Army Medical Command, had been assigned to USAMMC-E for the past two years. It was his second tour with the organization.

During his latest tenure, Raymundo spearheaded efforts to develop and mentor Soldiers while partnering with external units, such as Public Health Command Europe, 10th Army Air Missile Defense Command, German allied forces and others.

Additionally, his engagements and insights helped change the center’s structure and processes to eliminate backlogs and improve customer service, while embracing the Army’s top priorities of readiness and people.

USAMMC-E, a subordinate command of the Army Medical Logistics Command, provides medical logistics support across the full spectrum of military operations to the U.S. European Command, U.S. Central Command, U.S. Africa Command and U.S. Department of State.
